this will be kinda long but pls read 😅
For some context, certain boxes have a designated crate. for example, the paper box has an 80% chance to get the common crate, so that boxes’ designated crate is the common one. This applies for most boxes except for one which can be ignored.
Now, ideally the crates should cost slightly more than their designated box so that players get the choice to either: pay a bit more to get the exact crate (which has the hats) they want, or take a risk for less.
The issue is that the pricing doesn’t work like that: it’s like this v
common box: 31% less to buy directly
uncommon box: 0% less to buy
rare box: 0% less to buy
ultimate box: 43% more to buy
legendary box: 62% more to buy
as you get to the more expensive boxes, the price difference becomes larger and larger, especially at legendary. This doesn’t seem fair- other crates get an equal price difference and the common crate even costs less than its’ box.
My proposal is simply to give all crates a flat increase, like 30% or 25% more than their respective boxes, so that the rarer boxes no longer seem impossibly out of reach for casual players.
extra note: I recorded some data, and one hour of playtime gave me 1,300 coins. the price difference between the legendary box (12500) and legendary crate (20300) is 7,500, meaning that in order to guarantee a legendary crate, you’d have to play 6 extra hours on top of the 9.6 hours already required to even afford a legendary box. and even then, you’re still not guaranteed to get a hat you want from the crate!
