The Stalker is a Neutral role that can replace The Clown.
The Stalker can choose a random person to stalk, they cannot change the chosen player until the ability times out. The ability will time out if the target isnt voted out or killed in the next 2 nights. If the chosen player is voted out or killed within 2 nights, The Stalker will gain a token, which gives him the ability to kill the next night, however if The Stalker doesnt kill anybody while possessing the token, then he will not be able to stalk any player until the token is used. The Stalker cannot stalk the same person twice in a row. They will also be given the dialogue, “I mourn your death, [PLAYER NAME].” to place in their journal. Once The Stalker kills, he will lose the token and regain his ability to choose a new target. If The Stalker is voted out while their stalk ability is active, The stalked target will also be removed, The text at the top will say, “The Stalker wishes to take [PLAYER NAME] with them.” If The Stalker is killed by The Murderer, The Assassin, or Mysterious Circumstances while the stalk ability is active, the stalked victim will gain a message, saying, “You suddenly feel more calmer and less anxious.”
The Stalker can be killed.
The Stalker can only be witched whilst possessing a token, however the token is not wasted and They Stalker may kill next night.
The Stalker’s kill can be blocked by a medic, however this uses up The Stalker’s token, returning him back to his stalk mode.
If The Stalker gets voted out whilst their stalked target is a Twin, both twins will be removed along with The Stalker.
Maybe I missed it, but this role had no Win Condition…
Well idk if a win condition for The Stalker would make sense but i guess they can make it so that The Stalker earns coins every time their stalked target dies/gets voted our or earns coin everytime they kill using their token
Why would having a win condition not make sense? Every role has a win condition. There is no point to playing a role without an ability to win. Such a suggestion has no chance to even be considered in the slightest.
if you really want a win condition then maybe its if the stalker makes it to the end regardless of whatever team wins
Sigh
it would work as a win condition for neural roles no? The clown has its win condition attached to its ability, but the clowns ability is only functional if they get voted out, but the stalker has a normal ability that can be used at any point in the game like other abilities so attaching a win condition to the stalkers ability wouldnt make sense, which is what I said earlier but I didnt specify so thats my bad
What NOT to do when creating role concepts(Role Concept Guidelines, or RCG):
RCG 1: Creating a Neutral role and thinking about the abilities it would have before thinking about the win condition(This is the most common mistake that people make and it often leads to them either not being able to come up with a win condition or coming up with a crappy one)
RCG 2: Creating a Neutral role that has a win condition that’s just using their ability X amount of times(unless if performing their ability is a challenge)
RCG 3: Creating a Neutral role that has an ability that doesn’t help them achieve their win condition or achieve impact
RCG 4: Creating a Neutral role that has a win condition that doesn’t conflict with Good or Evil but being easily proven so neither side will kill them, this is specifically directed towards Neutral Muffin Man
RCG 5: Creating a Neutral role that gathers information(unless this can help their win condition)
RCG 6: Creating a Neutral role that has way too little influence over the game to the point where nobody cares about them
RCG 7: Creating a Neutral role that has way too much influence over the game to the point where they dictate which side wins singlehandedly
RCG 8: Creating a Neutral role that requires a specific role to be alive in order to win and would lose if they die
RCG 9: Creating a Good/Evil role that counters only one other role and would be useless if this role died or doesn’t exist in this game(Unless if the role that it is countering is the Murderer)
RCG 10: Creating a Good/Evil role without thinking how to add it to the role list of the game where it would be balanced, such as not having a plan if you make the role much stronger or weaker than existing roles
RCG 11: Creating a role that has its effectiveness or winning condition too reliant on RNG(game-generated randomness)
Sorry it’s a lot. A Neutral role with a win condition that is just Survival Conflicts with RCG4 because the role well can just claim and have a Free Win. They don’t really NEED to conflict with Good or Evil in order to win.
well damn
hold on but The Stalker is an attacking role, so wouldnt it make sense for others to get them out? Roledropping would get you voted out, because since they can attack while alive, then removing them also removes that threat
