Pro Servers#3322

I would like to suggest adding separate “Pro Servers” in Flicker that are only accessible to players with 100+ wins (or another reasonable win requirement decided by the developers).

This feature would help improve gameplay quality for experienced players while also giving beginners a more comfortable environment to learn the game properly.

Why This Would Help

1. Experienced Players Frequently Get Matched with Beginners

Currently, many matches contain a mix of highly experienced players and completely new players. While this is normal in most games, in Flicker it often creates frustrating and unbalanced rounds because the game heavily depends on deduction, role knowledge, clue interpretation, and strategy.

Experienced players usually:

  • Understand role interactions
  • Know clue-reading strategies
  • Understand voting patterns
  • Detect suspicious behavior faster
  • Use advanced tactics and fake claims strategically

Newer players often:

  • Don’t fully understand the roles yet
  • Misinterpret clues
  • Randomly accuse players
  • Vote without reasoning
  • Reveal important information accidentally

As a result, gameplay quality becomes inconsistent.

Common Problems in Current Public Servers

Random Eliminations

Beginners sometimes vote out experienced players for weak or random reasons, which can ruin strategic gameplay very early in the round. In other cases, the experienced ones often eliminate the beginners just because they are newbies.

Unproductive Rounds

Instead of deduction-based gameplay, many rounds become chaotic and random because players are unfamiliar with strategies and role mechanics.

Difficult Communication

Experienced players often try explaining strategies or role logic, but during active rounds it usually slows gameplay down and rarely changes the outcome.

Frustration for Competitive Players

Players who have spent time mastering the game can feel discouraged when matches become entirely luck-based instead of skill-based.

How Pro Servers Could Work

Entry Requirement

Players must have:

  • 100+ wins
    OR
  • Another requirement chosen by the developers

This ensures players entering the server already understand the basics of:

  • Roles
  • Clues
  • Team strategies
  • Voting logic
  • Common tactics

Possible Server Structure

Beginner Servers

  • Open to everyone
  • Better learning environment
  • Less pressure for new players

Standard Servers

  • Current normal matchmaking
  • Mixed experience levels

Pro Servers

  • Only experienced players
  • More competitive gameplay
  • Higher-quality strategy rounds

Benefits of Adding Pro Servers

Better Gameplay Experience

Rounds become more strategy-focused instead of random.

Fairer Matches

Experienced players can compete with others at a similar skill level.

Improved Learning for Beginners

New players won’t immediately get overwhelmed by advanced strategies.

Increased Long-Term Player Retention

Competitive players are more likely to continue playing if matches stay engaging and skill-based.

More Competitive Community

Pro servers could encourage players to improve and work toward unlocking them.

Additional Ideas

Ranked-Style Features

Pro servers could include:

  • Win streak tracking
  • Competitive statistics
  • Seasonal rankings
  • Leaderboards

Toxicity Prevention

To prevent elitism:

  • Pro servers should remain optional
  • Regular servers should still exist for everyone

Final Thoughts

Flicker is a strategy and deduction game where player experience heavily affects match quality. Adding Pro Servers would create a healthier balance between beginner learning and advanced competitive gameplay.

This change could make the game more enjoyable for both new and experienced players instead of forcing both groups into frustrating matchmaking situations.
